Child Identification Procedures
 

The district conducts Child Find activities for the purpose of locating, evaluating, and identifying students with a suspected disability who are residing within district boundaries.  Child Find activities apply to children who are not currently receiving special education and related services.  Parents having concerns about their child’s health, hearing, intellectual functioning, language and learning development, movement, behavioral concerns, speech, vision; and/or are experiencing homelessness or have a child is in foster care, may call the district office regarding services at 509-829-5911.

Record Retention Information

 

Special Education Records Destruction Notification

As soon as a student exits special education, the students’ records are no longer needed to provide educational services to the student and will be destroyed after six (6) years in accordance with the Secretary of State Records Retention Schedule.

 

Destruction Schedule for Records Where the Parent Did not Receive the Letter

Records will be destroyed in January 2030 for any remaining records where the student exited special education in 2016 or any prior years.
